What can I expect to discover in my unique family history report?

Where do we begin?
Whether you want to prove or disprove a family myth, or just want to know as much as possible for your budget, let me know your aim(s). Feel free to call, email, or if you prefer leave a message for me to call you for a free of charge assessment.
If you prefer to meet in person, I’m always happy to meet for a cup of tea and a chat anywhere in Plymouth, Devon.
The types of questions I may ask you include:
The full names (if known) of your grandparents, their parents, their children, names of spouses, did they marry more than once? Were they known by any other names? dates and places of births, baptisms, marriages, deaths, occupations followed, any military service? Any religions followed? Did your ancestors emigrate? Is there an existing family tree?
The information you provide will give a starting point and direction for the research.
With this preliminary information at hand, I will begin a free of charge assessment to gage the likelihood of success in tracing your ancestors.
Success depends on a number of factors, including:
- How distinctive your surname is
- The availability of records
- The continuity of your ancestors in one place or trade through time
- The social status of your family through time.
I’m unlikely to find nothing at all in the records! but before you purchase any research hours, I’ll check to see if it’s worthwhile first.
I’ll report back to you, and If you’re happy for your family history research to begin, I’ll email you a confirmation of the project to be undertaken, along with an invoice.
A non refundable deposit of 50% is payable prior to the research commencing. The remaining 50% is to be paid once research is complete and before final delivery of the project.
Once research is completed, I will email you the final invoice which must be paid 21 days from the date of issue of the invoice. Once paid, I will send your family history report to you electronically via the email you supply, or by USB memory stick or CD if requested.
Payment can be made via bank transfer, cheque, debit or credit card using Paypal. Payments for services under £200 must be paid in advance.
NB. All given information is in complete confidence and will be used solely for the purpose of researching your family history.
